Double-jointed egg-butt snaffle made of Sweet Iron with a round middle piece. With an egg-butt snaffle, the rings of the bit cannot freely rotate through the mouthpiece, this makes the effect slightly stronger than with a loose ring snaffle. It is a bit quieter in the mouth than a loose ring snaffle. The double-jointed mouthpiece shapes itself to the mouth of the horse. The pressure is distributed over the middle of the tongue and the bars, because the middle piece is round, the pressure on the tongue is less sharp.

Sweet Iron develops surface rust through contact with (air)humidity that tastes sweet and naturally stimulates saliva production. Sweet Iron horses start foaming more, which makes for a better acceptance of the bit. The rusting process (oxidation) changes the blue color of the TRUST-bits to brown-grey. When temporarily not using a sweet-iron bit, an orange-brown rust layer may form on the mouthpiece, this can easily be removed by wiping the bit with a damp cloth.
